Welcome to the website of KSI (Dutch Knowledge Network for System innovation and Transitions!

From 2004 KSI (a co-production lead by the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Technical University Eindhoven and the University Amsterdam) developed a huge number of practical projects and research programmes that focussed on the proces of transitions in society. That resulted in a new field of science: transition knowledge. KSI compromises over 80 researchers from a dozen Dutch university's and research institutes with specific expertise of transitions and system innovations. They examined how to make a much needed transformation towards a sustainable society. Among politicians, entrepreneurs and scientists the sense of urgency grows that this process is one of the greatest challenges for the next decades.

From international perspective Dutch science is considered the innovative frontrunner of transition theory and transition management. The activities of KSI emphasize this position. During the last six years the network has made a reputation all over the globe. Now the programme ended it is time to present the scientific legacy of KSI. The knowledge and expertise which resulted from KSI's scientific and practical activities is compiled in four websites. www.ksinetwork.nl contains a survey of all projects, conferences, meetings, programmes, publications, dissertations and thesis from students and scientists who are involved with KSI.

www.sustainabilitytransitions.com is a site about a series of scientific volumes, a recent projecy of KSI and the English publisher Routledge. At the website www.transitiepraktijk.nl CCT lends governments, organisations and companies a helping hand that want to think and act sustainable. www.transitionsnetwork.org is the international site from KSI. A platform for scientists from all parts of the world.
